VERSE LA

While at Veneklasen Associates, George performed all acoustic design for this project for Multiple Grammy Winning Recording Engineer Manny Marroquin.  Manny's vision was to provide an unparalleled food and live music experience just up the street from his famous Larrabee Studio on Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood, CA. The acoustic goals included making completely professional recordings in a small live venue.

​​The interior includes a Meyer Constellation System, which generates a customizable reverberant sound field no matter where the sound source is located in the room.  The system demands very low reverberation times. George worked with the design team to help design a space that appears to be constructed of typical gypsum and wood wall and ceiling finishes, but is almost entirely comprised of sound absorptive materials.

George performed the acoustical envelope design, which included windows and skylights, to ensure no disturbance to the residences behind the venue, as well as isolate noise from traffic on Lankershim Blvd. which included heavy auto and bus traffic.

​Noise from building systems was also designed to low levels to accommodate the performance and recording environment.
